Bethesda is an area in southern Montgomery County, Maryland, located just northwest of Washington, D.C and includes major government facilities such as The National Institutes of Health main campus and the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. The main commercial corridor that runs through Bethesda is Maryland Route 355 (known as Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda and as Rockville Pike and Hungerford Drive in more northern communities), which, to the north, connects Bethesda with the communities of North Bethesda and Rockville as well as Chevy Chase, and Kensington. Bethesda is a mix of old and new town. It is known for its popular restaurants and bars, as well as parks and historic scenery. A great place to live for the person looking for the downtown living.
